Brno 3rd August 2010
South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC) has launched international biotechnology conference Gate2BrnoBiotech website www.gate2brnobiotech.com and opened registration to this unique meeting of R&D workers from both academia and industry. The conference will be held on 21st October 2010 in Brno as a part of the accompanying programme of the International Fair for Medical Technology, Rehabilitation and Healthcare Medical Fair Brno Central Europe 2010. The conference follows the success of the three previous conferences held in 2006, 2007 and 2008 that were attended by around 150 participants each year.
The fourth series of Gate2BrnoBiotech conference will traditionally focus on the latest trends in biomedical and biotechnology research and present this dynamically developing sector to both experts and the general public. At the same time, the event will promote the Czech Republic as a place with perfect conditions for its further development.
The aim of the conference, which is held within the framework of the Enterprise Europe Network, is to create a platform for close interaction between academia and industry and strengthen the application of the latest research results in the industrial sector.
„Life Sciences are one of the most potential sectors in the South Moravian region and globally one of the most progressive fields of research, development and innovation. Increasing importance of these sectors is reflected in the research focus of the newly developing research and development centres, “says Michal Kostka, deputy director of South Moravian Innovation Centre, who is also active in development of biotechnology entrepreneurship in South Moravia.
The centres mentioned by Kostka include Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC), International Clinical Research Centre (FNUSA-ICRC), Biotechnology and biomedicine centre (BIOCEV), Regional Centre for Applied Molecular Oncology (RECAMO) and Institute of Molecular and Translational Medicine (BIOMEDREG). These centres will have the opportunity to present the key projects that are being conducted by their research teams. The main conference partners will introduce projects such as Novel Stem Cell Technologies for Myocardial Regeneration and Bioanalytical Applications of Nanotechnology in order to outline possible cooperation and industrial partnerships.
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to meet with other registered participants thanks to Gate2BrnoBiotech messaging system at the conference website www.gate2brnobiotech.com.
